February 2010: In the works

Hope you're staying warm this February. In between snow days this month, I've been working on stories for Scholastic Instructor, EXPO, Meeting Mentor, American Spirit, Business Alabama, Incentives & Meetings International and Hobby Farm Home.

I'm also working on some corporate writing projects including a newsletter and some marketing materials.

In the meantime, I'm querying new markets (as always), but with an extra push, as I'm participating in the Winter Query Challenge at Freelance Success. Hopefully the result will be lots of points for my team, and lots of work for all of us in the coming months!

January 2010: Back at work

Happy New Year! After taking some time off for the holidays, I'm now back at it and determined to have a great 2010. Hope you are too. I've kicked off the year with some fun new assignments and am looking forward to working with some new clients in the next few months.

This month, I'm writing articles for the College Bound Network, Entrepreneur.com, EXPO, ParentLife and Credit Union Business.

I'm also working on newsletters for corporate and association clients including the Alabama Golf Association and the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce.

One of my goals for 2010 is to develop relationships with some new editors and start writing for some new-to-me magazines. If you have a project to discuss, please contact me. Have a great year!

December 2009: In the works

I can't believe Christmastime is here again. Along with baking, eating, shopping, wrapping gifts and spending time with family and friends, I'm busy working this month as well.

During December, I'm working on articles for American Express' small business website, OPENForum.com, CNNMoney.com, EXPO Magazine and Associations Now, published by ASAE and The Center for Association Leadership. I'm also contributing to Canning and Preserving, a new magabook in the Popular Kitchen Series, published by Hobby Farms and Hobby Farm Home magazines.

In corporate work, I'm writing copy for marketing pieces for three different tourist destinations, as well as producing a community newsletter for a Chamber of Commerce.

Merry Christmas!

In the works: October 2009

How did it get to be October already? I've been so busy the past couple of months that I forgot to update this news page! Now the weather's turning cooler and I'm working on queries for warm-weather stories for 2010.

This month, I'm also writing articles for ParentLife, EXPO, SMERF Meetings Journal, American Spirit, Credit Union Business and Incentives & Meetings International. In addition, I'm working on corporate projects including a newsletter for a state association, a white paper for a consulting firm, and a marketing piece for a tourism destination.

And I'm still blogging at GrowingFoodandKids.com when time allows.

If you have a project you'd like to discuss with me, please contact me. Have a great October!

July 2009: In the works

Happy July! This month, I'm working on articles for MyBusiness Magazine, EXPO, Business Alabama, Association News, Entrepreneur.com and Bankrate.com. I also just finished writing an e-newsletter for a state association and am working on marketing newsletters for two tourist and meeting destinations.

Throughout the month, I'll also be blogging at my (relatively) new blog, GrowingFoodandKids.com. Stop by for a visit for tips, stories and information about growing, harvesting, preserving and cooking fresh produce with kids in tow. Have a great July.

June 2009: In the works

Our family has already been to the beach and back, so summer is officially here! During the month of June, I'm working on articles for EXPO, SMERF Meetings Journal, American Spirit and Credit Union Business. I'm also writing and editing for corporate clients and researching queries for some new markets.

And when I'm not working, I hope to spend a lot of time in the pool or at the lake, and the days get longer and hotter. Hope you have a great summer!

In the Works: May 2009

There's a lot to be excited about this month. School's almost out and the days are getting longer. And I have lots of work on my plate for the month! I'm finishing up an assignment for Working Mother and working on pieces for Bankrate.com and American Spirit Magazine.

I'm also writing pieces for several trade magazines, including Incentives & Meetings International, EXPO, Association News, and SMERF Meetings Journal.

In addition, I continue to work on projects for corporate clients. Let me know if you have a project you'd like to discuss!
